The Howler Scout Car was a successful Yaisdra armoured car design of the First War for Yaisdra that continued in service into the M41. It was designed for armed reconnaissance and liaison purposes. During the postwar and occupational era, it doubled as an internal security car for the Adeptus Arbites in a number of regions.

The Howler saw action in middle deserts with the 11th Praetorian Hussars and the Yaisdrian Alpine Regiment. A typical Praetorian war recce troop in the desert would have two platoons of Howler Scout Cars and two squadrons of Sentinel walkers.
